Terms of Service
The terms that govern your use of AstroSat.
Last updated: 19 August 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of AstroSat at astrosat.app, operated by smartflux (“we”, “us”). By using AstroSat, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
AstroSat is a satellite-tracking web app that shows satellites on a 3D globe, a first-person sky view and a solar-system view, with pass predictions and custom constellations. The core app is free to use. Creating an account is optional and lets you save tracked satellites and constellations across devices. AstroSat Pro adds AI features (“Mission Control”) and other Pro-only surfaces for a paid subscription — see section 3 for pricing and billing.
2. Important disclaimer — data & AI accuracy
AstroSat is provided for general information and personal interest only.
- Orbital data: satellite positions and pass predictions are computed from public two-line element (TLE) data on a best-effort basis and may be inaccurate, delayed or incomplete.
- AI briefings: AI-generated descriptions are produced by large language models and may be factually incorrect, outdated or misleading (“hallucinations”).
You must not rely on AstroSat for navigation, safety-critical, operational, legal, financial or professional decisions. Always verify important information with authoritative sources.
3. Pro subscription — pricing, billing & cancellation
AstroSat Pro is offered on two plans, both prices shown inclusive of VAT — the amount shown is the total you pay:
- Monthly — €3.99 / month, billed every month from the date you subscribe.
- Annual — €34.99 / year, billed every year from the date you subscribe.
Auto-renewal. Both plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period using your saved payment method, until you cancel. We do not currently send an advance renewal reminder; you can check or change your plan at any time from your account.
Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account’s billing portal (Profile → Manage billing). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access for the remainder of the billing period you already paid for. Outside the 14-day withdrawal window in section 4, we do not refund the unused portion of a period you cancel partway through.
Failed payment. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe (our payment processor) automatically retries it over the following days. Your Pro access is not revoked on the first failed attempt, but will be suspended if the retries are ultimately unsuccessful and the subscription lapses. You can update your payment method from the billing portal at any time to avoid this.
Refunds. Beyond the statutory withdrawal right described in section 4, payments for periods already used are non-refundable, except where required by law or where we owe you an availability credit under section 9.
Price changes. If we change Pro pricing, the new price applies from your next renewal after we’ve given you reasonable advance notice (by email or in-app). You can cancel before the new price takes effect if you don’t want to continue at the new rate.
4. Right of withdrawal (cooling-off period)
As a consumer buying a digital service at a distance, you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a Pro subscription without giving a reason. Because AstroSat Pro is delivered instantly on payment, this right can only be preserved if you don’t use it — the moment we’ve fully performed the service (i.e. you’ve started using Pro), the right ends.
For that reason, at checkout we ask you to expressly confirm that you want Pro to start immediately and that you understand you are giving up the 14-day right once the service has been fully performed. If you don’t give that confirmation, or if you cancel before the service has been fully performed, you are only charged for the part of the period you actually used, pro-rata, and the rest is refunded. This waiver is collected in the checkout flow itself (not merely by agreeing to these Terms), as required by law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use AstroSat lawfully and not to: disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure; scrape, harvest or bulk-extract data; reverse engineer or attempt to derive source code except as permitted by law; or resell or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.
6. Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used abusively.
7. Intellectual property
AstroSat, including its software, design, branding and content (excluding public orbital data), is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. The content you create (your tracked lists and custom constellations) remains yours.
8. Third-party services
AstroSat depends on third-party providers including Google Firebase, Anthropic, Stripe, Resend, Microsoft Azure and public orbital-data sources (Space-Track / CelesTrak). We are not responsible for outages, errors, changes or discontinuation of these third-party services, and their availability is outside our control.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep AstroSat and Pro features available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and the free core app carries no availability commitment at all. If a Pro subscriber experiences an extended outage of Pro features (more than 48 consecutive hours, caused by us or our infrastructure rather than a third-party outage outside our control) during a paid period, your remedy is a pro-rata credit toward that period’s subscription, applied on request to christian.smartflux@gmail.com — not a right to damages beyond that credit.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
AstroSat is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of profit, loss of data or reputational damage, or for any damage arising from inaccurate orbital data, AI-generated content, or third-party service failures. For service unavailability, section 9’s pro-rata credit is your remedy. Beyond that, our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or EUR 50 — except where a limitation cannot lawfully be applied, such as for our own intent or gross negligence.
12. Termination
You may stop using AstroSat at any time and may request deletion of your account (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service and its users.
13. Changes
We may update the service and these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms we will update the “Last updated” date above; your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Pro pricing changes follow the notice process in section 3.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
